The Duck Park- What NOT to do!

I took the four oldest kids to the park on a lovely afternoon, while my husband stayed home with the baby and worked on homework. When we arrived at the park we sat by the ponds edge and we watched some kids nearby as they fed the ducks tortillas. I took out my camera and started taking pictures of the kids. Everything was just fine and dandy.....

They were having fun making duck and goose sounds....

Right after I took this picture, I looked up to see our son
(in the striped shirt)
spinning around in a circle, I was just an arm's length behind him but he moved so quickly and I just barely missed grabbing him...then SPLASH!
He fell right into the duck pond!
I immediately pulled him out of the water, then I held him and calmed him down.
He was fine, just scared and cold.
We headed back to the car, wet and muddy and I didn't have a change of clothes for him so I took his wet clothes off and put him in a towel, in his car seat. You would think all my kids would be a bit stunned by what just happened.....NOPE!
Everyone but one little boy who really, wanted to watch the ducks....

(Here's K pearl mad about us leaving the park.)

K pearl calmed down after the girls explained to him
that his brother is a lot more important than the ducks.

We went home and iPearl was just fine after a warm bath and some snacks.
I am just so grateful that he is okay, because it could have been worse.
I felt really bad about this but it truly made me even
more thankful for my families good health and it also made me more
grateful that
I am their mother.

I received these beautiful flowers on our anniversary!
Thanks honey for always thinking of me. I ♥ my flowers!
These beautiful flowers
made me feel better about our terrible adventurous
day at the duck park! ;)

  4. That is scary, and yes it could be much worse.

Trick or treating this year, my 4 year old got scared from a teenager walking down the sidewalk, and bam, she looked up at him, freaked and bolted out in the road as a car almost hit her.. Thank goodness for being protected!!!

    You definatly deserve those flowers.
