Milestones...and thoughts

WHEW!

The house is finally quiet! Everyone is fast asleep, at least for a few hours. I've been so busy with taking care of the fam, organizing things and haven't had much time to keep with all of my favorite blogs. SORRY!!! :(

Baby Pearl: It’s been nearly five months since she was born. Poor baby had RSV, but she is all better now. She's growing fast, and she is healthy and strong. She holds her head up and tries to sit up from laying on an incline. When I hold her she tries to grasp everything in sight: food, toys, hair, faces, spoons and cups. She also loves to play and observe what the kids are doing and she can’t stand it when she can’t see what’s going on around her. She has the cutest little giggle!
She loves her baby cereal, apples and bananas and doesn't like pears very much.

I-Pearl:
Oh my goodness he is one tough and energetic boy, he is 28 mos. but thinks he is six years old. I get a kick out of seeing him and his older brother riding the big wheel trike around the back yard. I-Pearl can’t really reach the pedals yet so he climbs on the back and stands on the back while big bro; K-Pearl, pedals them back and forth on the sidewalk. When he is kicked off by big bro bored with that, he is off to the dirt to scoop up dirt, rocks or toys... which he hides in his tricycle compartment and then he rides in the house and dumps it all out... such a sweet gift for mommy and it's usually after she has mopped the floor...lol!
He is one messy boy, but he is very sweet and kind and can eat cheese for days, seriously! ;)

K-Pearl:
This kiddo is now almost 4 yrs. old; I can’t believe how much he has grown. He is doing so great with the bean thing one of my BFF’s told me about. (Thanks Anna!) He loves to collect coins to buy gum. His latest fascination has been trucks! He loves recycling and garbage day. He reminds us that it’s time to take out the bins and he also makes sure we bring them back in…lol! He is such a boy! He loves to look around the house for coins, for shopping. He is doing great with his drawing and is learning to write his name. He has a heart of Gold!

Pearly Shella: Is now 5 years old and she sure acts like it! She has become my little mommy’s helper and will be in Kindergarten this fall. She is looking forward to it and she is definitely ready to start. We made flash cards and drew our own illustrations on them and she loves practicing for school with them. She has been so good with keeping up her chores in the AM and she loves to dance and sing. She recently told me that she wants to be singing-doctor-mommy-chef…then I told her that’s what I am too! Lol! This girl is always looking out to give love and hugs when they are needed. I love my sweet, beautiful Pearly Shella!

Pearlie: She is doing great with school, though she missed a few weeks she is back on track and she has set some goals for reading, and math. Pssst! Let me tell you, she has an artist’s eye and hand. And it’s fun to see her express it. She will be an artist/designer/hip hop dancer/vball star...someday! She has really been an amazing student at school and works hard.
She hasn’t done any sports yet, but she really wants to play v-ball like her auntie. She is my right hand when daddy's at work.

The FAM:

It’s been a little tough these past 3 months, Daddy Pearl was sick, then all the kids were sick BUT all is well right now. With each trial we have faced we learn to lean on the Lord and one another more. I am most definitely grateful for the many prayers and many phone calls, cookies, and cards we received. Our ward is wonderful!
Last but not least our parents and family are always amazing and we are so blessed to have their constant love and support.

(Just a thought) I am so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who guides us through the storms and calms us when we need to be comforted. As I write about our kid’s I thought about what it must be like for our Heavenly Father to see each of us reach our spiritual milestones. The fact that he knows our hearts and what we are capable of. If we know he is our God, and we believe it...What are we so worried about? Why do we waste time complaining? He surely has faith in us, we also need a bit more faith in ourselves and in Him.

Ofas!

  8. I'm glad everyone is feeling better. RSV is a hard one, my baby got that too but thankfully it was my big, full-term baby rather than my sickly preemies.
