Why Am I Still Awake?
It's very late...and I am WIDE AWAKE. I sure hope this summer flies by, mostly because I really want things to go well for an event in September. It's going to be a LONG summer, mostly due to this event. There isn't any planning in life that you can do to prevent the unknown from happening.
Things on my mind right now are mostly about my family and the stress that is involved in the day to day life is sometimes overwhelming. But the most important thing, is that we are getting through it all. We have persevered through everything we have dealt with. The challenges sometimes includes close family being rude and not really being very caring about things and circumstances that we have no control of. I have found that I am easily affected by the way that others treat my family. I have a lot of protective tendencies. I definitely have to say that I have grown, and aged in my mindset...maybe 20 years..hahaha! Or at least I think I am a LOT more mature! Haha!
The thing that surprises me, is that often times people ask me how we are dealing with this stressful time and managing to overcome the hard times, because of the many kids that we have. My only reply is that it's hard but it's not as hard as some people have it.
One of the things I have learned in dealing with stressful times, is that I truly and most certainly, ENJOY being a mother and wife. I love working hard and tirelessly for my family. I ENJOY serving them, and being there for them when they need me most. I ENJOY interacting with my kids and husband, even when we are not in the best moods. I ENJOY their messes and noise.
On the other hand, I have also learned that through these hard times, the things that make this situation more difficult don't even have to do with us. The difficulties come, when others, (who were once outside of our circle of influence) meander their way into our lives and spoil the simplicity that we truly enjoy--with their negativity and carelessness. I don't really care about having nice or expensive things, I don't care about being at every event in town. It really is down to the simple things and just surviving each day and doing it with a "servants" heart. Some days I am a good servant, and some days I am a not so good....lol! But I truly feel most blessed when I have spent the day truly serving my family and being there for my kids and husband, when they need me the most.
Simplicity is where it's at. Where true joy resides. It's where I find myself closer to my TRUE self. It's simplicity that makes everything so great!
I watch our 1 year-old son who is more perfect that me...find joy in playing with a plastic lid. Sliding it across the floor. While his toys that cost a good amount of money, sit in the same box of toys...hardly touched. In his little mind, he finds "JOY" in the simplest of things.
I hope that when my children grow up, that they will remember how the hard times made them stronger. I hope that they will also realize and contemplate, how simplicity in life creates true happiness.

What a great post Ane! You're a great example of strength and faith.... and all I can say is to just keep your head up. People will always have negative things to say, but you don't have to acknowledge them. Keep doing what you're doing girl!
ReplyDeleteSimplicity is definitely a true help!
